First, let me explain the lengths of the belts.

The belt is up to waist size 48". But the actual length of the leather is 55" or 140cm. With the buckle attached it reaches 57". So fore anyone who needs a larger size, the belt has a length of 57". 

If you don't know if this will work, I recommend grabbing a ruler, and measuring your waist where you normally wear your pants. It is a quick simple way to figure this out

    But if your waist measures 56", and the actual length of the leather is 55", adding the buckle does not say that the 'teeth' that secure the belt will engage the buckle to hold it.  How hard can it be to add say 4 more inches to the existing belt?
